Kraco
Why this role exists
This role is the hands-on builder who will work on SQL Server reporting database with Power BI dashboards, custom HTML/JS web applications, and AI tools and integrations.
You will work directly with the Head of BI — a senior technology and business strategist with 20+ years of experience leading digital transformation in Albania. The Head of BI defines the business logic, KPIs, and strategic direction. You translate that into SQL queries, Power BI reports, and working dashboards and applications that every stakeholder at Kraco — from field agents to the CEO — relies on daily.
This is not a maintenance role. You are building something that does not yet exist. You will connect systems that talk to each other, automate reports that are currently done by hand in Excel, and deliver real-time visibility into a production and distribution business.
Key responsibilities
SQL Server reporting database
• Write and maintain stored procedures that extract data from existing ERP, Sales application and other sources, transform it, and load structured report tables into the central SQL Server reporting database.
• Build and schedule nightly SQL Server Agent jobs for automated data refresh.
• Design report tables, for example: daily_sales_summary, customer_performance, stock_snapshot, monthly_kpi_scorecard, agent_scorecard, route_efficiency, and stockout_log
• Ensure data quality through validation checks, reconciliation logic, and error logging.
• Maintain historical snapshots so the business can always answer “what was our position on date X?”
• Suggest improvements in the systems architecture and applications to adopt to the business needs.
Power BI dashboards
• Build Power BI reports connecting to both live source systems and the SQL reporting database.
• Create DAX measures and calculated columns for KPIs: sell-through rate, distribution coverage, route efficiency, stock-out frequency, target achievement
• Develop the executive dashboards, sales management reports, and operational views
• Configure scheduled refresh and row-level security for different user roles
• Optimize data models for performance — keep dashboards fast even as data volume grows
Custom HTML/JS dashboards
• Build lightweight web-based dashboards using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for specific use cases where Power BI is not the best fit (e.g., mobile agent app, public displays, embedded widgets)
• Connect custom dashboards to the SQL reporting database via REST API or direct query
• Create interactive, mobile-responsive interfaces for field agents showing KPIs, rankings, route data, and customer intelligence
• Work with AI to generate automated reports and trends forecasts.
Systems integration and automation
• Establish and maintain connections to ERP, Sales application, and Excel file sources.
• Automate Outlook email alerts for exception-based notifications (stockouts, missed targets, overdue collections)
• Collaborate with Partners, Vendors and IT team to ensure stable data access and resolve integration issues.
• Document all data flows, transformation logic, table schemas, and refresh schedules
Stakeholder support
• Translate business requests from the CEO, commercial director, and sales managers into SQL queries and dashboard outputs
• Train end users on self-service reporting and dashboard navigation
• Participate in weekly BI sprint reviews with the Head of BI to prioritize the analytics backlog
• Proactively suggest new reports and insights based on patterns you observe in the data
Requirements
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
• Relevant certifications are a plus (PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst, Microsoft SQL Server)
Experience
• 2–4 years working with SQL (T-SQL preferred): writing queries, stored procedures, views, and scheduled jobs
• 1–2 years building Power BI reports or dashboards, including DAX formulas and data model design
• Experience with at least one ERP system (Microsoft Navision / Business Central is a strong advantage)
• Exposure to HTML/CSS/JavaScript for basic web development (does not need to be a senior developer)
• Experience connecting to databases via ODBC, REST APIs, or similar integration methods
Technical skills (must have)
• SQL: joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, SQL Server Agent scheduling
• Power BI: report building, DAX measures, data model relationships, scheduled refresh, basic row-level security
• Data transformation: ability to clean, reshape, and reconcile data from multiple sources
• Excel proficiency: must be able to work with the existing Excel files that are part of Kraco’s current landscape
Technical skills (nice to have)
• HTML/CSS/JavaScript: ability to build simple, clean web pages and interactive dashboards
• Python basics: pandas, scripting for data manipulation or API calls
• Microsoft Navision / Business Central data structures and table conventions
• REST API consumption and basic JSON handling
• Claude AI or other LLM experience: prompt engineering, structured output parsing
Soft skills
• Analytical mindset: you see a messy dataset and want to make sense of it, not run away from it
• Self-starter: comfortable building in a greenfield environment where nothing exists yet
• Communication: can explain a data finding to a non-technical sales manager in clear, simple language
• Curiosity: you ask “why is this number different?” before accepting it at face value
• Documentation habits: you write things down because you know future-you will forget
• Languages: fluent Albanian, working English proficiency required
